Please remove caps, give a quick rinse, and crush or squeeze the container before placing it in your recycling container. If the cap is metal or the screw on plastic type it can be recycled too.
Why?
- Caps are made from a different plastic than the rest of the container, removing them saves us time and you money (we see it as a team effort)
- A quick rinse will keep your recyclables from smelling and attracting unwanted pests (not to mention, have you ever smelled a milk jug that didn't get that quick rinse and sat for a few days? We have, please don't make us go through that again)
- Crushing the container conserves space in your recycling container and in our truck, this means more materials can be collected using less fuel and resources. And that's what recycling is all about!
